Commissioning a Pet Portrait
Whether you are considering a pet portrait for yourself or for a gift, commissioning a work from Pencil Pen Paper is a straight forward process !
You can use the Contact Us page to send me an enquiry via the online form or call me on my mobile number. The link for the Contact Us page is https://pencilpenpaper.com.au/contact-us/
Once I receive your enquiry I will contact you to discuss your pet portrait request with you in more detail.
Some things to think about regarding the portrait include:
- Choosing a clear, high quality photograph or photographs of your pet. You can either send your photographs to me via email or send a CD or prints via regular mail. I will provide you with my mailing details on request. I will return all printed photos and/or CD’s to you, as I know just how special your pets’ photos are to you.
- Whether you’d like me to change anything in the photo (for example, removing a dog’s collar from the portrait).
- What background would you like for the portrait, if any ? My usual style focuses on drawing your pet with minimal background elements. If you have a preferred background that you’d like me to include, however, that is also fine.
- Whether the portrait is to be of one pet or more than one pet. If the portrait is to include more than one pet, you can email photographs of each pet individually or together.
- What size you’d like the portrait to be ? All sizes outlined below are for unframed portraits. Alternative portrait sizes are also available – just let me know your requirements. The larger the portrait, the more detailed the drawing can be. Therefore, A5 is a suitable size for a head and shoulders portrait of one pet, or a simple sketch. A4 is a good size for a whole body portrait of one pet. A3 is my most popular portrait size, and is also great when multiple pets are to be included in the same drawing.
The portrait process
- When I receive your photographs, I will contact you again to discuss the commission in more detail. At this stage, I will provide you with a quote for the portrait, and an estimated completion date.
- I quote all commissioned portraits on an individual basis, depending on the complexity and the size of the portrait. I will obtain your agreement to the quote before proceeding with the commission.
- Once you are happy with the quote, I will require a small deposit for the portrait before beginning work on it. I will provide my bank details for this purpose at that time.
- Once the portrait is complete, I will email you a photo of the portrait for you to review.
- If you require any changes to the portrait at this stage, I will discuss these with you, amend the portrait with agreed changes, and email you an updated photo.
- Once you are satisfied, I will make arrangements with you for collection or postage/couriering of the portrait, depending on your preference. At this stage in the process, final payment of the outstanding balance, plus postage (or the cost to courier the work to you) is required.
Pet Portrait Pricing
