Commissioning a building drawing
So, how do you go about ordering a building drawing from Pencil Pen Paper? Whether you are considering a building portrait for yourself or for a gift, ordering from Pencil Pen Paper is straight forward !
- Firstly, navigate to the Contact Us page. From the Contact Us page you can send me an enquiry via the online form or call me on my mobile number. The link for the Contact Us page is https://pencilpenpaper.com.au/contact-us/
- Once I receive your enquiry I will contact you to discuss the potential commission in more detail.
- I quote all commissioned drawings on an individual basis, depending on the complexity and the size of the portrait. I will obtain your agreement to the quote before proceeding with the commission.
Some things to think about regarding the portrait include:
Images
If you have a photograph of the building in question, you can either send your photographs to me via email or send a CD or prints via regular mail. I will provide you with my mailing details on request. Alternatively, if the building is in my local area (Newcastle, NSW) I can photograph the building on your behalf. I will, of course, take into account the preferred orientation/view of the building that you are interested in. Additionally, for buildings for which images are publicly available online, I can reference those too.
Portrait Size
What size would you like the portrait to be ? The table below lists Indicative prices for standard portrait sizes. Of course, other portrait sizes are available depending on your requirements. The larger the portrait, the more detailed it can be. Generally speaking, building portrait drawings work well on an A3 sized background or larger.
Deposit
I require a small deposit before beginning work on the drawing, to cover my materials, and will provide my bank details to you at that time.
Completion of the Drawing
When I complete the portrait, I will email you a photo for you to review. If you require any changes to the portrait at this stage, I will discuss these with you, amend the portrait with agreed changes, and email you an updated photo. Once you are satisfied with the completed drawing, I will make arrangements with you for collection or postage of the portrait, depending on your preference. All pencil portraits from Pencil Pen Paper are drawn using high quality art materials and acid free cartridge or watercolour paper. On completion, I spray the portrait with matt fixative to prevent smudging.
Final Payment
Final payment of the outstanding balance, plus any postage or courier costs, is required upon completion of the work.
